What sets the price within the range
Testing the sensors or inspecting the track puts your job somewhere in that $100 to $250 spread. A sensor that only needs repair sits differently from one that has to be replaced. A track bent in one spot gets quoted as a repair, and one that has to come out gets quoted as a replacement. When there is more than one way to fix the door, we explain the repair option and the replacement option and wait for your approval before any work begins.

What the written quote lists
The quote names the part, the work and the cost. If it includes replacing damaged cables, it says we will check afterward that the door moves smoothly. If it includes a track, it says we will run the door through a full open and close before we leave. If the rollers are worn, we fit nylon rollers and list them on the quote. If the job turns into a replacement door, the quote says so and notes that the door has to be wind-rated under Oklahoma's current residential code.
How we finish a sensor job
On a safety sensor job we test the photoelectric sensors and the contact-reversal function, then confirm the door opens and closes fully. A door that closes but does not reverse on contact is not finished, so we run both tests every time, whether we repaired the sensor or replaced it.
