Dented panels, rusted hardware, a door that fights you every morning and every night: at some point repair money buys you more of the same problem. We handle the whole job, from measuring the opening to hanging the new door and, when one is going in, mounting the opener.
When repair stops making sense
A door rarely fails all at once. It starts with a dent after a hailstorm or a panel that has aged differently from the rest. Then the hardware loosens and the door gets harder to move. The springs carry that extra load, and the whole assembly works harder than it was built to.
Replacement is the right call over repair when the damage is spread across the door instead of sitting in one section, or when the opening itself has changed shape. A single bad panel can be swapped. A door that has been bent and patched more than once cannot. We measure the opening before we quote, so you know whether you are looking at a targeted repair or a full installation.
Before an opener gets attached to the door, the top section is reinforced. The opener pulls on that section every cycle, and an unreinforced top panel is the first thing to give.

Oklahoma code and the door you buy
So a new door here has to carry a wind rating, and that goes into the quote from the start, not as an add-on later.
We pick the door with that requirement in mind, because a cheap door that doesn't meet the rating is the wrong door at any price.

What we do on installation day
We start with the opening. The old door comes down section by section, and we pull any hardware that is not being reused. The new panels stack into the track one at a time, and we check each for level with a level and tape measure as we go, then fasten with a drill and socket wrench.
Springs and cables go in next. Torsion-spring work carries real risk when it is done wrong, so that part follows the instructions written for that specific spring system, and a professional handles it. Once the door is hung and balanced, we run it through several full cycles by hand.
If the job includes an opener, the top section is reinforced first. Then we mount the opener, connect it to the door, and run the full open-and-close cycle before we leave.
What a new door costs
A single garage door, installed, typically runs $600 to $2,300. Call with the door size and material and we'll quote a typical range over the phone; the exact figure is confirmed after we see the opening.
The spread comes from the size of the door, the material, and the wind rating the door has to meet. Whether an opener goes in makes a big difference too. If your current opener is on its way out, we quote it together with the door so you are looking at one number instead of guessing what the opener adds later.
If we find something when we measure, such as framing that has pulled or an opening that needs work, it goes into the written quote before you decide anything.
After a hailstorm
Lawton sits in a warm, mixed climate (zone 3A), and hail is the hazard that most often ends a door's life here. After any storm, especially in May, walk around the garage and look at the door from outside. Check the panels for dents and the glazing for cracks.
One damaged panel on an otherwise sound door can often be replaced by itself. If several panels are dented or the sections no longer run true in the track, a full installation costs you less than chasing the damage one piece at a time. Which case you have gets settled when we look at the door, before any quote is written.
Parts of the Job
Spelled out, a few parts of the job:
- Put the provided vertical track over the rollers, attach its brackets to the jambs, and line up both sides.
- Slide the horizontal tracks over the top rollers and fasten the rear hangers to the ceiling framing; support the tracks and verify they are square with the door.
